Pen symbols are typically associated with education, learning, intelligence and creativity. This being the case, pen symbols are often used as illustrations in logos for educational institutions; creative writing or design companies; and more obviously, businesses involved in the manufacture and marketing of writing materials. How to best use a pen in logo design depends on the context and the message that the designer or the owner of the logo wants to convey. To give you an idea of the possibilities or some inspiration, I have collected a large set of creative pen inspired logos in this article. If you need graphic design tips and techniques for turning the inspiration and your ideas into a new logo I recommend that you work yourself through some logo tutorials.
